Today, during my prayer walk, I heard the word "turning" and then had a vision of what looked like massive gears that were locked beginning to turn and gain speed.

I felt excitement come upon me, and I began to gain speed in my walking—it was like a supernatural speed came over me.

As I leaned more into singing and praying in the Spirit, the Lord showed me that the locked gears represented enemy resistance—resistance against purpose, calling, destiny and progress.

However, the resistance was losing strength as the gears began to give way, unlock, and turn in motion.

This represents the enemy losing power and demonic strongholds being broken (Isaiah 45:1-2).

The enemy didn't expect you to last this long.

He'd thought you would have given up by now. He didn't anticipate you still being in the fight. He underestimated your ability to resist and stand your ground and stand firmly in your place in the midst of warfare and adversity (Ephesians 6:13).

Daniel 7:25 explains the purpose of enemy's resistance is to "wear out the holy ones of the Most High," to cause the saints of God to become exhausted, weary, and to faint.

Know this: the enemy doesn't oppose and resist anyone he doesn't see as a threat. However, all he can do is resist because he's already a defeated foe. He cannot change the will and plans of God, he cannot stop the will and plans of God; all he can do is resist and delay it. Even still, his resistance must give way when it's God's time to move on your behalf (Acts 12:10)!

When I researched gears, I found in mechanics when gears are jammed and suddenly released, there is a massive burst of energy.

Spiritually, this speaks to the end of an exhausting season of heavy friction-resistance (Galatians 6:9).

The turning means the enemy's strategy has backfired, and the very momentum meant to crush you is now being repurposed by God to propel you forward. The turning gears also represent the turning of circumstances and the shifting of seasons. Whatever seemed locked—void of movement and progress, stalled, and delayed—is now moving and turning into a divine acceleration, speed, and momentum (1 Kings 18:46).

The immediate sensation of speed means that the ground you lost or the time that felt wasted while "locked" is about to be rapidly recovered (Joel 2:25).

Gears gaining speed symbolizes God's timing and swift work. I hear the Lord saying, "He's doing more in less time" (Amos 9:13).

This is NOT the time to give in or give up.

Hold your position and rejoice! I hear the sound of victory!

Where have you been experiencing resistance — against your purpose, your calling, your progress? Can you recognize that the enemy only resists what he sees as a threat? What would it mean to hold your position and rejoice, knowing the gears are already turning?

Prayer

Lord, I recognize the resistance for what it is — a sign that I am a threat to the enemy's plans, not a sign that I have failed. I hold my position. I rejoice. I trust that the gears are turning and the momentum is mine. I thank You that the battle is already won, in Jesus' name, amen.
